Background checks

When I was in the military I would occasionally have a person show up at my office who was doing a background check on someone to either update an existing clearance or get a new clearance. The person doing the background investigation was never a government employee, but was working for a company that had a contract with the government to do background investigations.

Now that I am retired I’m thinking that those guys had a job that I would would be perfect for. So I started looking for the names of the companies that do this kind of work, unfortunately with no success. I’m hoping that someone can send me the names of some companies that you are aware of that do this type of work. Or point me in the right direction to find them on my own.
